SCR Modifications
Most New Boilers are fitted with SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) units.
Existing plants are being redesigned also to incorporate this green technology. All heaters with SCR upstream need to be designed and configured to combat the effects of Ammonia slip which are:
- Formation of Ammonium Bisulphate - causing blockage
- Accelerated Corrosion of Element plates - Heating surface
Power System Services can predict temperature regions across the heating surface where the formation occurs. In this region (generally the cold end) we would propose an easily cleaned single basket probably coated with enamel or Teflon finish to combat the listed effects above.
